Postcards from Hamble
7:30pm – 9:30pm
Details
Society Chairman, Ian Underdown, will be giving a pictorial view of postcards of the village, from the introduction of picture postcards in the early 1900s to the present day.
You will be able to find out how the postcards and Hamble have changed during this period and some of the interesting messages written on them. The golden age of postcards was the decade before the First World War and this has given an excellent pictorial record of Hamble during this time.
You will be able to view over 150 postcards of Hamble in this presentation and find out something about the history of postcards that have been available in the village. Come along to enjoy the scenes of Hamble over the years of postcard production.
New members and visitors are always welcomed! The cost is £2 a meeting. If you would like more information please contact the Society's Secretary.
